How Do I Create A Product?

Our step-by-step guide will show you how to easily create brand new products in our Merchant Portal. 

PART 1: INITIAL NEW PRODUCT SET UP
  1. To create a new product, go into MENU MANAGEMENT and then PRODUCTS. Click on CREATE A PRODUCT.
  2. Add your PRODUCT NAME.
  3. Assign the applicable PRODUCT TAX CATEGORY. If you have POS integration, this section will not appear as the tax will come from the POS at Checkout. 
  4. Add a PRODUCT DESCRIPTION to let your customers know more about this product. If you don’t have a product description, you can bypass this step by entering a space. 
  5. Next, CHOOSE YOUR IMAGE by uploading a new one or selecting an existing image from your media library.
  6. Set your PRODUCT AVAILABILITY by keeping the toggle on if the product is available all day OR toggle it off to select a specific set of hours for the product. 
  7. If the product is COMBO ONLY meaning it’s only available to order through a combo, then toggle on otherwise keep this toggled off.
  8. If the product is an ALCOHOL PRODUCT, toggle on, otherwise, keep this toggled off.
  9. If you have a loyalty program, keep POINTS IS ENABLED on if customers are eligible to earn points on this product, otherwise, toggle off. 
  10. Next, select the applicable ORDER TYPES for the product.
  11. As a final step to this section, hit SAVE to populate the rest of the product sections.

*You must save all of the above steps before you will be able to move on to the steps below.* 

 

PART 2: ASSIGN PRODUCT TO CATEGORY

  1. Scroll down to categories and click on ADD NEW CATEGORY.
  2. Select the applicable category. If you have a CATEGORY that has SUB-CATEGORIES associated, then the product must be mapped to a sub-category. You can only map a product to a main category if this particular category does not have sub-selections.
  3. If the product is in more than one category, you can click on ADD NEW CATEGORY to add it to another as well. 
  4. If you need to DELETE A CATEGORY click the TRASH BIN icon. 
  5. Finally, hit SAVE to solidify your selection.

PART 3: ADD VARIANTS & PRICE TO PRODUCT

  1. Click on ADD NEW VARIANT.
  2. From the drop-down, select the applicable Variants associated with your product.
  3. Add the PRICE associated with each Variant.
  4. Next ACTIVATE the variant by clicking the toggle.
  5. To arrange your variants to the order you want on your ordering platform, select the pencil icon. 
  6. Hover over the “equal sign” until you see crossed arrows and drag the variants to the desired position. 
  7. To DELETE A VARIANT, select the pencil icon and click the circle with the dash in the middle beside the variant name. 
  8. SELECT DEFAULT VARIANT. This will be the variant that is automatically selected for this product in your ordering platform unless the customer chooses another one. 
  9. Click SAVE.

 

PART 4: ADD OPTIONS TO PRODUCT (Optional)

It’s optional to associate your product with options because this may not be required for your product. Associating options to your product is only necessary when customers need to customize the product. 

  1. In OPTIONS, click on the down arrow and select ADD NEW OPTION.
  2. From the dropdown, select the applicable options for the product.
  3. To EDIT THE POSITION of your options, click the pencil icon. Hover over the “equal sign” until you see drag the options to the desired position. 
  4. To DELETE an option, click on the pencil icon again and click the circle with the dash in the middle next to the option name. 
  5. Click SAVE.

PART 5: ADD TAGS TO PRODUCT (Optional)

Adding tags will allow your users to search for this specific tag on your mobile app to pull up any products associated with the tag, ultimately optimizing the search functionality. This section is also optional so you can choose to skip this if you wish. After associating your product with options, scroll down to the TAGS section.

  1. Select previously created tags from the drop-down menu that would apply to your product. 
  2. To delete a tag, click the X next to the tag name. 
  3. When you’re done adding your tags, hit SAVE.

PART 6: ASSIGN BUSINESSES & FINAL STEPS

After associating your products with tags if applicable, scroll down to ASSIGN BUSINESSES. By default, the product will be associated to ALL LOCATIONS

  1. If the product is available for ALL LOCATIONS, keep this toggled on.
  2. If the product is available at certain locations only, toggle off ALL LOCATIONS. 
  3. From the LOCATIONS pop-up window, deselect AL LOCATIONS and select only the ones the product is available for.
  4. Hit SAVE and then hit SAVE again.
  5. To fully activate your product, toggle PRODUCT IS AVAILABLE & PRODUCT IS ACTIVE.
  6. If a specific location has different product pricing than the base price set, under BUSINESS OVERRIDES, click ADD OVERRIDE.
  7. Select the applicable locations and update the pricing for the applicable variants.
  8. Hit SAVE to implement the change.
