How to Create an App Feed Card

Learn how to create app feed cards directly from the Merchant Portal

App feed cards are cards that show on your apps homefeed. They can link to products, combos, offers, categories, locations or external URL links. They can sit on your app feed, be in the form of a pop up, and also be either a static image or a GIF. 

Prerequisites 

  • Access to the Merchant Portal
  • Admin level permissions, Marketing admin level permissions 
  • Applies to mobile app only

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log into the Merchant Portal

  1. Go to the Merchant Portal
  2. Enter your credentials and click Login

Step 2: Access the App Feed

  1. Click Engagement in the left-hand navigation
  2. Click App Feed
  3. Choose the app feed you want to update by selecting anywhere in the white box

Step 3: Create New Feed Row

  1. Scroll down to find Create New Feed Row
  2. If editing an existing row, select the pencil icon instead
       3. Complete all relevant fields:
  • Internal Label: Enter a reference name (e.g., 'new menu item')
  • Card Style: Choose between:
    • Single Card: Static on the screen
    • Pop-up Card: Appears once for the user with options to navigate
      4. Segment and Timing Options
  • Decide if the card should be segmented for specific users or left blank for all
  • Optionally set a start date and end date for the card's visibility
    • Note: If you do not set a start and end date the card will take on the start and end date for the entire app feed

Step 4: Select App Feed Card Action

Choose what happens when the user clicks the card by selecting the pencil icon on the box titled "App Feed Items":

    • Show a link (external URL)
    • Show a product, offer, category, combo, or location
  1. Depending on your choice, select the specific item to display which you will be prompted to do in a box that will appear below your selection

Step 5: Select App Feed Card Image

  1. Upload an image from your computer or select an image from the gallery (static image or GIF supported) by clicking Gallery
  2. Review the auto-generated card title and subtitle and remove if desired

Step 6: Finalize and Save Changes

  1. Review the card preview and details
  2. Click Done to finalize
    • Note: You will have to click two separate “Done” buttons
  3. Select Save in the top right corner

Step 7: Verify Changes in the App

  1. Refresh the app to see the changes take effect immediately
  2. Click the app feed card to ensure it follows the action set up in order to test that it is set up correctly

If it should be, update the app feed layout to include the desired locations OR, be sure to add this app feed row to all applicable app feeds
