The scan to charge function of the tablet is enabled for app-only clients looking to enhance in-store operations by allowing customers to pay with the app when placing an in-person order and earn loyalty points.
The use case for this functionality is as follows:
1. A user comes into store to place their order
2. The cashier would enter the order into their POS, grab the tablet and go into the scan feature to enter the total amount of the order provided on the POS
3. User would go into the scan section of the pay and present their QR code with their associated payment method already added
4. The cashier would scan the user's QR code with the tablet for payment where they'll also earn loyalty points for their purchase
The following is what the scan to charge functionality does not do:
1. Scan for loyalty: The user cannot pay outside of the app and scan their app to redeem loyalty points
2. Redeem offers: Our tablet does not have the technology to know when offers have been activated so this is something that is not possible with the scan to charge feature.
