How Do I Create a Discount Offer?

Offers provide users with incentives to make purchases through your web-ordering or mobile app. This article and video reviews how to create a discount offer, which is used to reward users with a dollar or percent discount on a product.

PART 1: ADD YOUR OFFER INFORMATION

  1. In the sidebar, click ENGAGEMENT then OFFERS.
  2. Click CREATE OFFER.
  3. Under OFFER INFORMATION, select the OFFER TYPE dropdown and select DISCOUNT.
  4. Include a TITLE and SUBTITLE for your offer, both of which are required. 
  5. Add an optional description to let your users know more about this offer.
  6. Include a LABEL that will be used internally to identify your offer. 
  7. Your offer can be made available at all of your locations or click the toggle to select specific businesses where the offer will be available. 
  8. From the OFFER SOURCE drop-down menu, select where this offer should be applied whether through your mobile app or web ordering.
  9. If you want to make the offer available for users to redeem through scan to pay if you are a scan to pay integrated client,  you need to select your POS partner from the list. You can also select more than one from this list if the offer can be applied in multiple ways. 
  10. Adding an image is required. Click on CHOOSE IMAGE to select an image that corresponds to your offer.

PART 2: ADD APPLICABLE PRODUCTS TO THE OFFER

After you’ve added your image, scroll down to the enter in the applicable products for each offer source. 

  1. Under ELIGIBLE PRODUCTS, select NO PRODUCT SELECTED. This will open up the product module to allow you to SELECT ALL PRODUCTS or select the individual product or products that are eligible to redeem the discount for.
  2. Next, apply the ELIGIBLE VARIANTS associated.
  3. Next, select NO for the DO ALL REQUIRED PRODUCTS NEED TO BE IN CART FOR THIS OFFER TO BE ACTIVE?
  4. If the offer requires a purchase of a PRE-REQUIRED PRODUCT in order to be redeemed, populate the PRE-REQUIRED PRODUCT & PRE-REQUIRED VARIANT associated with the product. This means the customer must have this product in their cart for the offer to apply.
  5. Select whether all PRE-REQUIRED PRODUCTS need to be in cart for this offer to be active. If there is an individual product that should be added to the users cart in order for the offer to apply, the answer will be yes. If there are multiple products and only some of the products must be selected, the answer will be no.

PART 3: ADD DISCOUNT VALUES + FINAL STEPS

After you’ve added in your eligible products for your selected offer sources, scroll down to FREE ITEM OPTIONS.

  1. Select the discount type by choosing PERCENTAGE or DOLLARS and include the discount amount. 
  2. If you want users to automatically receive the offer, ensure the AUTO REDEEM box is selected  OR deselect it if you want the user to apply the offer manually.
  3. If you want users to be able to reuse the offer several times in different transactions, ensure the REUSABLE box is selected OR deselect it if you want the offer to be a one-time use. 
  4. If you want users to be able to apply the offer multiple times within a single transaction, ensure th APPLY MULTIPLE is selected or unselect it if you want the offer to be applied once per transaction.
  5. Toggle on EXPIRY DATE if you want this offer to have a date and end time. Select the calendar icon to select the date and then the clock icon to select the time. 
  6. The expiry time set will be based on the location hours per store.
  7. Review the offer and click SAVE.
