How to Add Tags to Products

Prerequisites

• Access to the Merchant Portal
• Admin level permissions

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Log into the Merchant Portal

1. Go to the Merchant Portal
2. Enter your credentials and click Login

Step 2: Navigate to Tags

1. Click Settings and then Tags in the left-hand navigation

Step 3: Create a Tag

1. Select Create Tag
2. Leave it set to the default tag type of Product
3. Enter in the tag name such as “Dietary” and the tag value such as “Vegan”
4. To customize the appearance of the tag including icon, background color or foreground color, click Add Tag Detail once per customization. 
   • For example, if you want to add an icon and background color, click Add Tag Detail twice
5. Depending on what you want to customize, add in the corresponding key and value
   • Icon = icon
     • For the icon, upload the icon to the media section of the portal which can be found by clicking Engagement and then Media in the left hand navigation bar and then copy the url of the uploaded media.
   • Background Color = background_color 
     • Enter in the hex code for the color you want to display
   • Foreground Color = foreground_color
     • Enter in the hex code for the color you want to display
6. Save the tag

Step 4: Associate to a Product

1. Navigate to the product by going to the left hand navigation bar, clicking Menu Management and then Products
2. Select the Product you want to tag
3. Scroll down to Tags and select the drop down arrow
4. Choose your tag from the drop down list

Step 5: Review on the App and/or Web 

1. Changes are instant upon a refresh of the app or web. Once you have applied your tag, review it on the web or app to ensure it is displaying as you intended. Make any edits as required.
